Email all roster not working?

If you clicked the Email All button in your roster and nothing happened, don’t worry—this usually means your device doesn’t have an email app set up to send messages automatically.

Why this happens

The Email All button tries to open your device’s default email app (like Outlook or Apple Mail) and start a new message with all the email addresses already filled in. If your device doesn’t have an email app installed and set as the default, the button won’t do anything—because your computer doesn’t know how to send the message.

How to fix it

To make the button work, you'll need to:

  1. Install an email app on your computer (such as Outlook or Apple Mail).
  2. Set it as your default email app in your computer’s settings.

Most web-based email services (like Gmail or Yahoo Mail in a browser) don’t open automatically from this button unless you’ve set them up to do so.

Here’s how to make Gmail work as your default (optional):

  • In Chrome, open Gmail.
  • Click the little diamond icon in the address bar.
  • Click "Allow" to let Gmail open email links.

Other options

If you’d rather not install anything, you can still contact your group:

  • Open the roster.
  • Select and copy the email addresses manually.
  • Paste them into a new message in your email platform of choice.
