As a parent, you should approve all the apps your kid uses, because this is one of the most important ways to be involved with your kid's digital life. Many apps can be used for both good and not so good purposes. It's important to watch out for messaging and commenting that's in many apps you wouldn't expect. Also content discovery can also exposure your kids to things they shouldn't see (Tik Tok and YouTube are culprits there).

With the 100's of popular apps for kids, we suggest you use these resources to decide what you want to let your kid have access to. One final thought: for apps that are more risky, you may consider only allowing on family devices (e.g. computer or tablet) when an adult is around. Just because your kid has a smartphone doesn't mean they should have access to everything whenever they want.
